Mary Martello - Ella Cherry
Philadelphia has been Mary’s professional home for almost ten years and she’s thrilled to be back at 1812 after a rollicking good time in Batboy: The Musical. She’s worked with many great directors and production teams at many great theatres here including Arden, Azuka, Interact, People’s Light, Prince, Walnut, Wilma, and others. She has 10 Barrymore nominations, winning awards for Triumph of Love, Café Puttanesca and Sweeney Todd. Her most recent work includes Candide, Les Miserables, Frozen, Age of Arousal, and Assassins. Mary got started at BoarsHead Theatre in MI, then onto Theatre IV in VA, McCarter Theatre, Passage Theatre, Foundation Theatre, Denver Center Theatre, various children’s, summer and dinner theatres, off and off-off Broadway, a little cabaret, and some back up singing for Black 47. Thanks to my family for inspiration, perspiration and three grandkids!
Maureen Torsney-Weir - Lizzie Cherry
Maureen is excited to be working again at 1812 Productions where she last appeared in The Uneasy Chair. Her most recent appearance was in Black Gold at InterAct. Maureen has been working as an actor, teacher and director for many years. In Philadelphia, she’s also worked at Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre, Act II, Lenape, Lantern, Mum, People’s Light, and Theatre Catalyst. Working as an actor in New York, she was noted for such roles as Grace in Faith Healer and Ouisa in Six Degrees of Separation, among many others. She is a Barrymore winner for Best Supporting Actress in Angels in America and as part of the ensemble of Equus with Mum Puppettheatre. In addition to the theatre, she works in films, commercials and industrials. Thanks, Jen.

A veteran of Philadelphia’s improvisational comedy troupe ComedySportz, she currently teaches and directs for Abington Friends School. This past August, her AFS production of Haroun and the Sea of Stories garnered 4-star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. She makes a life, lovely and never-dull, with her husband, playwright Michael Hollinger, and their children Benjamin and Willa. For Alice, with whom everything is funny.
