The Phoebe and Otto Premiere Series
Daughters of Genius
A World Premiere by Evan Smith
Directed by Jennifer Childs
May 18, 2006 - June 18, 2006

From the author of 1812’s smash hit, The Uneasy Chair, comes this world premiere comedy about three girls and their search for knowledge. Combining the wit of Oscar Wilde with the outrageousness of Monty Python, Daughters of Genius focuses on the poet John Milton and his famously contentious relationship with his daughters. As Milton’s Paradise Lost nears completion, he wants his girls to be silent and take dictation while they yearn to understand the passion behind the poetry. Androgynous angels are summoned, deals are made with the devil and aerial battles are fought with beautiful hilarity in this ambitious new play.
